There are benefits to funded proposals I didn’t mention in the video:
- It’s easier to sell low-cost products to start getting quick cashflow.
- It’s easier to sell to existing customers than to strangers. If people have bought a smaller item from you already, there’s an existing level of trust there which makes larger sales easier.
- You get an opportunity to position yourself as an expert in your field.
So funded proposals can be looked at as an easy way to help your customers buy your main product/service by first selling them an inexpensive product.
Just FYI: the reason why funded proposals are used in tandem with email lists is because many people won’t buy your funded proposal item the first time they see it. But if you send people informative and insightful emails on a regular basis and continually encourage them to buy your funded proposal item, a very good percentage will end up buying from you–better than 1 out of 40 (the example I gave in the video).
